Oupa Pays HTS a Visit

On the very first day of the 2015 school year, we were honoured to have one of our own, Oupa Mohoje, visiting us and speaking to the learners of HTS.

Oupa, captain of the UFS (Shimlas) 2013, is currently playing for the Free State Cheetahs in the Curricup and Super 15.  He was included in the Springboks team in 2014 and played several international games for South Africa.

The same humble young man we used to know is still evident in him.  The learners simple hung on every word he spoke.  Teachers at school speak highly of him.  From his days as a Hattie till today as a Springbok he has always kept his values and morals.

One of his ex-coaches, Mr I Stevens, says that he has always known that Oupa would go far in rugby. From the first day he ran on to the rugby field he has shown the necessary discipline needed to go far and succeed in rugby as a career.

Talking about his journey to where he is today simply put a tear in one’s eye. Every time one hears about the amount of times he wanted to give up rugby it gives you Goosebumps. He had to work hard and persevere to finally make it.

The smile on the headmaster’s face was a clear indication of how proud he is.  Mr Hendriks, headmaster and athletics coach at HTS Louis Both, welcomes prosperity in all walks of life.

At the end of the session Oupa received a special honorary tie from the headmaster to always remember the school by.

HTS wishes Oupa all the best on his journey to greatness.  We wish to see more of our top achievers in the future.
